The Architects - Patti Glazer, AIA, is the principal of Glazer Architecture. Patti is registered in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee and is NCARB certified. She received a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University School of Architecture, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Diploma in Building Construction from Asheville Buncombe Techical College. Committed to sustainability, Patti is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional and a member of the US and WNC Green Building Councils. She is a member of the City of Asheville's Economic Development Advisory Committee and is active in downtown and preservation organizations. Patti is a Fulbright Scholar, a U.S. Patent Holder and a 13-time Griffin Award winner for Excellence in Preservation.

The Landscape Architect - Matthew Sprouse, ASLA, is the principal and founding partner of Sitework Studios. He brings a strong background in designing contextually-driven landscapes in cities throughout the southeast. Having previously worked in Atlanta with one of the country's largest landscape architectural firms, Matt easily excels at successfully implementing complex programs with clear, distinct design solutions. With eleven years' experience, he is known for his inspired responses to local history, views and urban topography. Matt is able to share a design vision with his client, the public, and local governments. Under Matt's leadership, SWS successfully leads complex urban design projects through permitting and review processes.

Matt received a Bachelor of Science in Design at Clemson University, and a Master of Landscape Architecture, School of Environmental Design at the University of Georgia. He also received a Graduate Certificate in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development at the Institute of Ecology, University of Georgia.

The Builder - Scott MacAlister is a principal of Carolina Cornerston Construction, Inc., a General Contracting firm located in Asheville's River Arts District. Carolina Cornerstone Construction carries an unlimited license, is certified at the local and state level as a minority business (women owned), and is also a certified contractor for Energy Star and System Vision construction. Carolina Cornerstone Construction has constructed more NC HealthyBuilt certified homes than any other contractor in North Carolina, and has been a strong partner of Mountain Housing Opportunities over the past six years.

Scott has lived and worked in Asheville since 1977, and has extensive experience in operations management in the construction industry. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power School where he received intensive training leading to a civilian equivalent of an Engineering degree with a Mechanica./Nuclear emphasis.

The Real Estate Agent - Devorah Thomas is Co-Owner and Broker-in-Charge of City Real Estate. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1982 with a degree in Business Administration and Management. She moved to Asheville in 1985 and began a career in the natural foods industry when she opened Mountain Food Products, a wholesale produce company. She spent several years in California working with an organic produce company and managing a natural foods store before spending three years in Austria where she worked with Brevard College’s Student Abroad Program. Asheville drew her back to the mountains in 1999. Her real estate career began with rehabbing homes and led her to get her Broker’s license in 2000. She was the top producer for the last four years of the five years she spent with Realty World Marketplace before launching City Real Estate.

The Graphic Designer - Alisa Carswell is the founder and owner of Lucky Design 7, a full-service print and web design firm. Alisa came to Asheville upon completion of her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Western Carolina University. For the next six years, Alisa honed her design skills at Design One, Inc. In 2003 the entrepreneurial drive struck and Alisa started Lucky Design 7. Her work is fresh, innovative and clean. She pushes the boundaries of color theory and sets her clients apart while maintaining a high level of appropriateness. Since starting the firm, Alisa has worked with a number of clients, both locally and nationally. Her high level of time efficiency and on-budget approach keep her clients happy and help their businesses grow.
